Man it is hot, not the fishing but the weather. Well, the Cobia did not make a big run in the Broad River this year. Plenty of fish caught offshore on the artificial reefs and some 50 plus pounders caught in the river so the population is most likely in good shape. Some Cobia will still be caught fishing the reefs and the mouth of the sound but now everyone will turn their attention to hooking the Silver King and some Kingfish. I have been having some decent luck with the Redfish and a few Flounder fishing mud minnows around the oyster beds in small creeks. Most of the Reds have been slot Reds but we did land a 33" monster last week. I have my fingers crossed for a good Tarpon run this summer but right now I am a little worried because we have yet to have good pods of large Menhaden in the sound.
