1/2 Day Report on Saturday April 18th 2009 from the Morning
April 19th, 2009
On Saturday April the 18 2009 I had the privilege of taking a family from Lake Norman NC on a 1/2 day venture in search of Black Sea Bass. The sea was beautiful so we headed out about 15 miles to start the day. On the ride out we kept our eyes open for Spanish Mackerel but did not see any action. The water temperature was 59 until we were about 10 miles out and began seeing 60 degree water. Upon arrival at the Ledge we marked good bottom and dropped our lines. We were immediately rewarded with some sea bass that were 12! For the next couple of hours we caught several nice Sea Bass 12 to 14 range. 100 or so Sea Bass were caught but most were undersized. As it was nearing the end of our day we made a couple of stops on the way in without much luck most in the 10 to 11 3/4 range. Most of the bass caught in less than 70Œ of water were undersized. All in all a awesome day of fishing on the Stand eN Down II out of Holden Beach North Carolina!
